Lecture topic: controlling the tongue. These are the days of Hajj and we are getting closer to the time in which the Hujjaj will actually fulfill the Hajj. But the lessons of Hajj are for all of us all the time. One of the very important lessons of Hajj, which in one Hadith Sharif, Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam highlighted, is Tib al-Kalam — gentle words, talking in a way that brings happiness to someone's heart. The Prophet ﷺ said: whoever guarantees me what is between his jaws and what is between his legs, I will guarantee him Jannah. This is about controlling the tongue. Silence is not weakness — it is strength. It is worship. The one who remains silent when they could speak evil has performed an act of ibaadat.
